The doctoral programme Regimes of Inequality–Past and Present welcomed Laura Lee Downs to Fribourg on 25 April 2024. She gave  a public lecture entitled “When Social Welfare Becomes a Bordering Practice: Women’s Social Action in Italy’s Northeastern Borderlands, 1919-1939”.
